Richard Barker – Proud Supporter of the Army Benevolent Fund
For the past eight years, I have proudly supported the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) through fundraising and participation in a series of extraordinary endurance events — the 100km Front Line Walks.
The Army Benevolent Fund is the Army’s national charity, dedicated to providing lifelong support to soldiers, veterans, and their immediate families when they are in need. Whether it’s assistance with housing, mental health support, financial hardship, or family wellbeing, the ABF stands beside those who have served our country — ensuring they are never left behind.
Walking With Purpose
Over the last decade, the Front Line Walk community has grown into something truly special. This year marks the 10-year anniversary of these remarkable treks — a milestone that reflects both commitment and camaraderie.
These 100km walks are not just physical challenges; they are deeply meaningful journeys. Participants walk historic routes, often across former battlefields, paying tribute to those who have served while raising vital funds to support today’s Army family.
Together, our Front Line Walk family has now raised an incredible £1.2 million — a testament to the dedication, resilience, and generosity of everyone involved.
Why It Matters
Every pound raised helps the Army Benevolent Fund continue its vital work:
- Supporting veterans facing hardship
- Assisting serving personnel in times of crisis
- Providing stability for military families
Behind every donation is a life positively impacted.
