MAIDENHEAD UNITED – THEIR SEASON SO FAR:

The Magpies are currently in 9th place in the league table. CLICK HERE to view the full league standings.

After relegation in the last campaign from the National league, Maidenhead started off life in the ENLS with a home loss against Chesham. They did remain winless in their next three games, drawing two against Enfield Town and Hemel Hempstead and losing to Weston-super-Mare.

But, they managed to get their first win on bank holiday Monday in August, with a 2-1 home win against Horsham and they rounded off August with a 1-2 away win against Dover.

Another two league wins on the spin saw a 0-4 battering of Bath and a 2-1 win against Chelmsford saw them enter the FA Cup in very good form. Their match in the second qualifying round was against Kent outfit, Faversham Town, residing in step four, and the Magpies were involved in a cupset, losing 0-1 at home.

However, that result didn’t affect their league form as they went back to winning their next two games against Maidstone & Worthing, as well as after beating AFC Aldermaston in the Berks and Bucks Senior Cup second round.

Form for Maidenhead then took a turn for the worst, taking them from one of the most in-form sides in the league to one of the worst, going winless in their next six, which included five losses and one draw.

This bad run continued into the FA Trophy as they were knocked out by Leamington, 2-0. A 0-4 win away at Winslow United progressed them into the quarter-finals of the Berks and Bucks senior cup but that good win couldn’t carry into the league and they lost 1-0 away at Dagenham.

Finally, Maidenhead turned a corner, winning their next three fixtures against Salisbury, Chippenham and Hornchurch, scoring 11 goals and conceding zero. Unfortunately, their run in the Berks and Bucks senior cup ended at the hands of Reading.

Their league form didn’t stop after this loss, as they extended their unbeaten run in the ENLS to five games, winning away at Hampton & Richmond and drawing against Hemel Hempstead, but unbeaten streak was stopped on Boxing Day in a 1-3 home loss against Slough Town.

Maidenhead in their last three games secured wins over Horsham and Enfield as well as drawing their last match against Chesham, making it one loss in their last nine league games which has seen them climb back up the table into 9th.

OPPOSITION PLAYERS TO WATCH:

DEFENCE: MILES WELCH-HAYES

Miles Welch-Hayes rejoined The Magpies in the summer, having spent last season on loan at York Road from Livingston. Last campaign he appeared 35 times in black and white stripes, scoring a singular goal in a 2-2 draw against Woking.

Welch-Hayes signed a professional contract at Oxford United in 2016, before making his League One debut later that year against Fleetwood Town. Whilst at Oxford he went on loan four times, most notably making 22 appearances for Bath City. He then joined The Romans permanently for a season before heading off to Macclesfield Town back in the Football League.

After two years there, he had another two-year tenure at Colchester United followed by a year at Harrogate Town. During his time at Town, he spent half a season at Altrincham before heading up to Scotland and Livingston, where he would feature three times before loans to Dunfermline Athletic and Maidenhead.

MIDFIELD: MATT ROBINSON

Matt Robinson joined the Magpies in 2025 as part of further reinforcements ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Robinson began his career in the youth system at Leicester City before making a move to Luton Town, where he'd spend the next four years. While at Luton, Robinson enjoyed promotion to League Two, kickstarting their rise through the Football Leagues. Following the promotion, Robinson had loan spells Kidderminster Harriers, Grimsby Town and Woking.

Following his spell at the Hatters, Robinson spent seven years at Dagenham and Redbridge making 234 appearances and scoring 21 goals, during his time he also received a call-up for England C.

He then joined Woking where he would head out to Boreham Wood and Braintree Town on loan.

ATTACK: LIAM DULSON

Dulson joined Maidenhead from Cheltenham Town ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Spending his early years in academies around London, he joined Watford at age 8 and would stay there until he was 16. His next destination was Waltham Abbey where he continued his youth career, before getting a taste of senior football at Hoddesdon Town and Royston Town.

He then earned a move to Ware where his goalscoring record spoke for itself, netting 53 times in 87 games. He would also play a handful of games for Potters Bar Town and Bedford Town, scoring seven in 18 for the latter.

This fine form earned him a move to League Two club Cheltenham Town in 2024, where he scored on his debut.

So far this season, Liam has netted nine times in the Enterprise National League South.
