PLAYER BIOGRAPHY
Jay came through the Arsenal academy (1998–2008) and made his senior debut under Arsène Wenger in 2010. He subsequently had loan spells at Blackpool, Doncaster Rovers and Cardiff City before permanent moves to Ipswich Town in 2011, where he made 71 appearances and scored eight goals.
His most prolific period came at Bristol City (2013–15), scoring 24 goals in 82 league appearances and helping the club win League One and Football League Trophy in 2014–15. He later featured for Queens Park Rangers, including loans at MK Dons and Gillingham, before venturing abroad to play for PTT Rayong in Thailand, and later Livingston and Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership, followed by a season with Jamshedpur in India’s Super League.
AFC Totton announced his signing on 23 July 2025. The club described the move as a significant coup, emphasising his wealth of Championship and international experience and expressing strong hope that his goals will help drive a successful season on the south coast. Emmanuel‑Thomas has been assigned the No. 14 shirt, labeled “JET”, and made his debut the same day in a pre‑season friendly against Weymouth.
As a former England Youth international (Under‑17 and Under‑19), Jay brings both pedigree and versatility, having operated effectively as a striker or winger over a 15‑year professional career. Despite recent off‑field challenges, he remains physically strong, technically adept, and experienced across multiple tiers of football—from the Premier League to Europe, Asia, and now the National League South.
