PLAYER BIOGRAPHY
Lee Hodson is a seasoned Northern Ireland international who joined AFC Totton in June 2025, ahead of the club’s debut season in the National League South. Born in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, Hodson came through the youth ranks at Boreham Wood before joining Watford in 2004, where he made his senior debut in May 2009 in a 3–1 win over Derby County.
Versatile and defensively intelligent, he made over 80 league appearances for Watford—the majority in the 2009–10 Championship season—earning a professional contract and featuring regularly in both full-back positions. He spent the 2012–13 season on loan with Brentford, making 13 League One appearances before moving to MK Dons in 2013, where he played 40 League One games across three seasons.
Hodson continued his career in Scotland with Kilmarnock and then joined Rangers in 2016, scoring his first goal for the Ibrox club later that year. His career included loan spells with St Mirren, Hamilton Academical, and Partick Thistle, gaining vital experience across the Scottish Premiership and Championship levels. In 2019, he returned to England with Gillingham, later rejoining St Mirren and Hamilton on loan before re-signing with Kilmarnock in 2021. His time at Kilmarnock helped them win the 2021–22 Scottish Championship title.
In June 2023, Hodson signed for National League side Eastleigh, where he became a regular starter across two seasons, making 62 league appearances before being released at the end of the 2024–25 campaign.
Internationally, Hodson has represented Northern Ireland at U19, U21, and senior levels, earning 24 senior caps since debuting in November 2010. He was part of the Northern Ireland squad for the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament (though he did not feature in the finals).
Lee Hodson arrives at AFC Totton ready to bring veteran expertise and stability to a club on the rise. His wealth of experience—from high-level league football to international duty—underscores the ambition and intent behind Totton’s promotion push for the 2025/26 season.
