TORQUAY UNITED – THEIR SEASON SO FAR:
The Gulls are sat in 3rd place with 39 points from 21 games. Their season started off well, just losing two out of their six games in August. In that spell came three wins, which includes our defeat against Torquay at Plainmoor and a draw away at Maidstone.
Into September and it was a good month in terms of league results for Torquay, drawing 2-2 away at Hampton & Richmond but winning the other two league fixtures, however, there was a loss against AFC Totton in the FA Cup 2nd qualifying round at the Snows Stadium.
October was an ok month for The Gulls, as they lost to Chesham and Dorking, both away from home, but managed to pick up seven points with a draw against Dagenham and two wins, one away at Salisbury and one at home against Chippenham.
November seemed to be continuing in the same vain, after a loss against Hornchurch, but Torquay bounced back well and won their next two games, both away. Unfortunately, then came a loss against Maidstone in the FA Trophy 2nd round, but league form stayed good in November with a 7-0 thrashing of Eastbourne, a 3-2 win against Worthing and a 0-2 win away at Chelmsford.
In their last game, and only game so far into December, it was a 1-2 home defeat against Tonbridge Angels, which was a shock looking at the form of the two sides going into that one, but with a week off whilst the FA Trophy fixtures were on they will be fresh and ready to go come tomorrow afternoon.

OPPOSITION PLAYERS TO WATCH:
DEFENCE: Sam Dreyer
Sam Dreyer is known for his commanding presence, aerial ability, and defensive leadership.
Dreyer began his football journey in the Stevenage academy, progressing through the youth ranks and gaining early senior experience with a series of short spells at Biggleswade, Hendon and Bedford Town while still a teenager.
He later signed professional terms with Peterborough United, where he continued his development before earning National League South experience on loan at Hampton & Richmond Borough, making 16 league appearances in the 2023/24 season.
In July 2024 Dreyer joined Torquay United, quickly establishing himself as a key figure in the heart of defence. During the 2024/25 campaign he was a near-ever-present, featuring in around 46 league and cup matches and helping Torquay challenge at the top end of the division.
His performances earned him Torquay United Young Player of the Year honours and a place in the Vanarama National League South Team of the Season, while he was also appointed vice-captain thanks to his leadership qualities.
MIDFIELD: DYLAN MORGAN
Dylan Morgan is an attacking midfielder currently with Torquay United, known for his creativity, direct running, and ability to operate both centrally and from wide positions.
Morgan began his football education in the youth systems of Southampton and Forest Green Rovers before progressing into senior football.
He moved into senior non-league football with Taunton Town, where he became a key figure in the midfield and finished as one of the club’s leading attacking contributors, making 37 starts and 30 substitute appearances and scoring 13 goals during his time with the Peacocks.
In January 2024, Morgan signed for Yeovil Town, helping the Glovers secure promotion back to the National League with 29 appearances and four goals during his spell at Huish Park.
During the 2024/25 season he also enjoyed a productive loan at Weston-super-Mare, scoring three goals in four outings as part of his development.
On 20 December 2024, Morgan joined Torquay United on a permanent deal, signing a contract running through June 2026.
In the 2024/25 campaign he made 25 appearances across the National League South and contributed with three goals and one assist, establishing himself as an important attacking option.
ATTACK: JORDAN YOUNG
Jordan Young is a forward currently with Torquay United, known for his goal-scoring threat. He holds both English and Scottish nationality and has represented Scotland at youth level.
Young began his football journey in the Swindon Town academy, joining at the age of eight and progressing through the youth ranks for a decade before stepping into senior football.
He made his Football League debut for Swindon in February 2016 and scored his first professional goal in the final game of that season.
After a loan spell with Highworth Town during the 2018/19 campaign, where he scored six goals in eight appearances, he departed Swindon and signed for Coventry City in August 2019 following a successful trial. He made a senior appearance in the EFL Trophy before moving on to Gloucester City, first on loan and then on a permanent basis.
In February 2022, Young joined Chippenham Town, where his performances in the National League South attracted attention and paved the way for his move to Yeovil Town in January 2023. At Yeovil he became a key part of their attacking unit and helped the club win the 2023/24 National League South title, finishing strongly in the goalscoring charts.
On 28 October 2024, Young signed for Torquay United for an undisclosed fee, agreeing a contract running until May 2027.
Since his arrival at Plainmoor he has continued to contribute in the final third, combining goals, movement and creativity as a central striker capable of playing across the forward line.
